Parts Department Specialist

Job Summary:

The Moser Energy Systems Parts Department Specialist is responsible for inventory management and maintaining the stock of replacement parts. Qualified applicants must perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs for various replacement parts to excel in this role.

Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • 1 to 3 years of parts or purchasing experience is preferred.

Supervisor:

Parts Senior Manager, unless otherwise designated.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitoring the current parts inventory.
  • Pricing parts to maintain profitability.
  • Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labeling them.
  • Collaborating with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs.
  • Know and comply with all safety policies, standards, and procedures that apply to your job.
  • Actively participate in all required training and safety meetings.
  • Use the correct tools and use them safely.
  • Immediately report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures established by Moser Energy Systems.
  • Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Sales and customer service skills.
  • High level of accuracy with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing, and estimates.
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues.
  • Previous mechanic or car sales experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes loud environment.
  • Leadership skills to keep the parts department running smoothly.
  • Product knowledge to correctly identify parts and recommend needed parts.
  • Time management and organizational skills with the ability to work alone.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to work legally in the US.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Clean motor vehicle record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time, and lifting over 60 pounds.
